Looking at the surrounding urban context the overall building design followed a few simple but strong criterias – orientation of the roof, general horizontal alignment as well as a traditional treatment of the facade. Through this is was possible to develop a building mass that fits perfectly into the scale and materiality of the existing build texture. Apart from dealing with the specific urban condition of the site it furthermore was very important to deal with the economic constraints of the developer. Therefore a strategy was put into place that makes it possible to develop to plot in two entirely independent construction phases creating a maximum degree of flexibility within the process.
